Airbag Craftworks

Back in 1995, a dj's search for a new bag to carry his records in, became the reason for airbag craftworks' design project.

Founder and CEO Paul David Rollmann took an old, no-longer used air mattress and made a bag out of it. The first air mattress bag, or airbag in short, was born. The former holiday item proved to be extremely useful for transporting 12” vinyls: strong and safe for carrying the records, comfortable for the user, and filled with holiday memories.

Today the search for a new record bag has led to the creation of a whole design platform of airbag craftworks products. From the first original model of the record bag, a whole
sophisticated and complex collection of bags and t-shirts have been developed.

The lives and works of the airbag-designers are inseparably linked to their great love of music and club culture.
What all products have in common is the basic airbag idea: we transform your holiday memories.

Creative Recreation

Creative Recreation was officially launched in Orange County, California in the Fall of 2002. The founders of Creative Recreation noticed a huge void in the footwear market. Everyone was offering either dress shoes to be worn with a suit or athletic inspired sneakers that were not acceptable at most functions for our lifestyles. No one was offering footwear to young professionals with style. Two long time friends who were already enjoying a prosperous career in the footwear industry decided they would be the ones to change the game.

Realizing that this generation was not going to follow in the same footsteps as the one before them Creative Recreation began their own journey. Being successful in this generation did not require wearing a suit and tie rather it was just the opposite. This generation is in more control or their destiny and their careers. This genre has become known for its entrepreneurial drive. Along with this came freedoms of fashion in the work place and in other social setting.

With these inspirations behind them Creative Recreation set out to fill this void. The two founders simply set out to design shoes that they wanted to wear. By sampling the best aspects from other footwear categories and incorporating the comfort of an athletic sneaker combined with the materialization of a dress shoe to create the ultimate crossbreed.

Many people have difficulties understanding what category Creative Recreation footwear falls into. That has been the best compliment to the founders. "We don't want to be put into any category, were a footwear company! We make shoes for our lifestyle, rather we make shoes for life with style".

Goorin Brothers

The Goorin Hat is the ultimate mark of individuality, style and status. Since the first goorin hat was sold off a horse cart in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania in 1895, Goorin Brothers has redefined the art of hat making. A century of experience translates into a brand that combines the style of by-gone eras with the progressive inspiration of the present. The result: a hat that refuses to be predictable and a look that invokes the glamour of vintage with the edge of street.

Considered a lost art in America, gone are the times when top hats derbies and bowlers are an essential part of dress. Goorin brothers have refashioned itself to put hats on top again. Who better to revolutionize the market than Ben Goorin great-grandson of founder, Cassel Goorin, and the fourth generation to lead the company?

Kanabeach

In late 1986, a gang of surfers from Brest, France decided to realize a dream and create their own brand of surfwear, called Kanabeach.

Kanabeach is specialized in creations for surfing, skating and board sports in general and sponsors a great number of competitions.

Constantly experimenting with new fabrics and new colours, Kanabeach collections are never dull, but always original and fresh. Their clientele is no longer made up entirely of riders and more and more wearers are loyal to this brand’s fun image.

Kanabeach is very much focusing on natural materials. Collections feature both men’s and women’s clothing and include accessories and bags.

Nixon

Stussy

In 1980, Shawn Stussy was a local cult surfboard shaper who took his scrawled signature logo from his foam masterpieces and applied it to tee shirts that he sold along with his boards around Laguna Beach, California.
As the clothing line expanded, it's raw and modern aesthetic soon developed into the next generation of new wave beach culture. We grew during a time when epochal shifts which eternally framed contemporary popular culture were taking place.
In the music scene, the late 70's gave us punk. Then the early 80's brought us into the new DIY music called rap. Punk broke creative and aesthetic barriers and taught us that anyone could have a band. Rap then preceded not only to push social boundaries but as well explore the ideas of remixing and sampling. These new ideas and territories created a new modern platform for fashion and cultural expression.
With Stussy's success came the opportunity to travel and spread the Stussy vibe. We hooked up with trendsetters in New York, London, Tokyo and other areas of the world. Stussy clothing was inspired by this international group of musicians, skaters, DJs and artists with similar tastes, which helped to shape the brand into an international streetwear label.
Today, Stussy exists as a brand with worldwide respect and independence. With over sixty stores across the globe and a very strong tribe still in effect, Stussy is a leader in the culture which we helped start over 25 years ago.
